Power Lift for Switchgear Constant Current Regulators
The Freedom Series™ constant current regulators (CCRs) can be installed in an integrated switchgear lineup commonly referred to as an Airfield Lighting Switchgear Regulator Assembly (ALSRA). As part of the ALSRA, the regulators are equipped with rollout powerpack modules. These power modules can be racked out to the service position for ease of maintenance and routine service, or can be completely removed from the switchgear assembly.
The Freedom Series™ power lift has been designed to safely remove and install the powerpacks from the Switchgear regulators. The power lift is available in two versions; one designed for 24" wide switchgear enclosures, the other designed for 36" wide. The lift can accomodate both Ferroresonant powerpacks and Thyristor or SCR powerpacks.
The power lift allows a powerpack to be removed from the switchgear assembly and a spare powerpack to be quickly installed in the event of a problem. The lift also allows a larger or smaller powerpack to be purchased and installed in the event that circuit loading conditions change in the future.
Features
- The 24" power lift is capable of removing or installing powerpacks for Thyristor type CCRs with ratings up to 30KW, and Ferroresonant CCRs up to 10KW.
- The 36" power lift is capable of removing or installing powerpacks for Ferroresonant CCRs with ratings from 15KW to 30KW.
- The power lift is provided with a 120VAC electric winch rated for 2 tonnes.
- The power lift platform adjusts to the exact height of the regulator rails, allowing the powerpack to easily roll out of the CCR and onto the lift platform. Even a 30 KW, 1300 lb powerpack can be rolled out by a single person.
- Compact design provides tight turning radius. Requires only 4 feet of space in front of CCR to remove power pack.
- Large polyurethane wheels facilitate moving even on checkerplate floors.
- The power lift components are precision cut using a waterjet cutting tool and precisely welded to provide the necessary strength and rigidity. A safety blue powdercoat finish ensures the finish is durable and designed to last.
- The power lift is assembled with removable clevis pins allowing the lift to be dismantled for storage and quickly reassembled when needed.
- Lockable wheels and safety catch prevent the lift from moving while in position next to regulator.
- Safety ratchet mechanism prevents lift platform from falling in the event of winch failure.
- Safety arm mechanism locks the powerpack in place, preventing inadvertent rolling while moving the lift.
